Rick Nijhout / PhD Student

About me

After studying Interactive/Media/Design at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague, Rick worked as animator and VJ for several years. However, driven by curiosity and a general fascination for the workings of cellular life he decided to dive back into the books and obtain a Bsc. Biology and a Msc. Biomolecular Science (cum laude) from VU university. During previous projects he worked mainly on genetic regulation of ribose metabolism in Lactococcus lactis. Currently he is working on the subject of cellular change management and focussing on dynamic regulation of glycolysis in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
